Weight Stigma and Body Image Concerns
As a researcher in weight stigma, a fat woman with lived experience, and a therapist specializing in body image, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to the complex relationships people can have with their bodies. Many individuals experience a tug-of-war between moments of self-love, self-criticism, and everything in between. This internal conflict often influences behaviours around eating, exercise, and self-care, and can also become a significant source of stress in interpersonal relationships. My passion lies in helping people of all genders navigate these challenges, fostering a healthier, more compassionate relationship with their bodies. By creating a safe space for exploration and healing, I support individuals in moving toward self-acceptance, regardless of societal pressures or personal struggles with body image. It's possible to find peace, reclaim autonomy, and learn to embrace your body as it is, on your own terms.
